Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General seeks an experienced RN for the Neuroscience ICU at Akron General. The NSICU cares for patients recovering from strokes, neurotrauma, and neuro surgeries; you will provide direct nursing care, monitor patients, administer treatments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Shift is nights 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with every other weekend and three holidays per year; relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current state RN license required.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification within first year of employment.
• CVVHD training and TNCC within one year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in the NSICU.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for neuro ICU patients.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly.
• Develop goals with patients and families and update plans of care.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary plan of care and act as patient advocate.
• Document treatments, medications and patient responses.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education.
