Job summary

Join Cleveland Clinic Akron General as an Experienced RN in the Critical Care units (SICU/MICU). You will care for diverse adult to geriatric patients during nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, with every other weekend and 3 holidays per year.

The role emphasizes trauma, CRRT dialysis knowledge, patient safety and collaborative care with a multidisciplinary team. Minimum qualifications include an RN license, BLS/ACLS within specified timelines, ICU experience, and a diploma/ADN/BSN.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing ( Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire.
• TCAR certification within 24 months of hire.
• One year of current ICU or acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals and involve patients and families in developing plans of care.
• Coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication and document .
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
