Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital seeks an Experienced RN for the Surgical ICU/Medical ICU in Akron, OH. You will provide direct critical care to diverse patient populations and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.

This full-time night shift position emphasizes patient safety, care planning, and family involvement. Applicants should have 1 year ICU/acute care experience and Ohio RN licensure, with BLS on hire and ACLS/TCAR within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current RN License in Ohio (active).
• 1 year of ICU or acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the ICU.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Develop and update care goals, involving patients and families in care plans.
• Coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and advocate for patients.
• Administer treatments and medications, and document care provided.
• Participate in interdisciplinary evaluations of patient outcomes and quality improvement.
• Delegate tasks and serve as a resource for team members.
• Review and document progress and discharge goals with patients and families.
• Communicate patient care information during shift reports.
