Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the 9100 Neuroscience Unit in Akron. The days shift runs 7:00am to 7:30pm, with every other weekend and three holidays per year.

The private 22-bed unit treats stroke, TBI, spinal injuries, and post-craniotomy patients, delivering direct nursing care and education for patients and families. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, document treatments, and pursue ongoing

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Preferred BSN degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit.
