Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking an experienced RN for the Neuroscience ICU. You will provide direct nursing care to NSICU patients, perform assessments, plan and implement care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patients with strokes, neurotrauma and post-surgical care.

The role requires an ADN/BSN, active RN license, BLS, ACLS within one year, CVVHD training and TNCC within year, and ICU/stepdown experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN)
• Current state RN licensure
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification within first year of employment
• CVVHD training and TNCC within one year
• TCAR certification within 24 months
• One year ICU/stepdown/critical care RN experience or one year acute care RN experience

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments and respond to changes in condition.
• Develop and update goals with patients and families.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary plan of care and act as patient advocate.
• Administer treatments and medications and document.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient outcomes reviews.
• Delegate tasks and pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications.
• Document discharge goals with patients and families.
• Participate in discharge planning and case management conferences.
• Communicate plan of care and patient outcomes during shift reports.
