Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking an RN for the Neuroscience Med/Surg unit in Akron, OH. The 9100 Neuroscience Unit cares for stroke, TBI, spinal injuries and post-craniotomy patients.

This 0.9 FTE day shift entails 7:00am-7:30pm with every other weekend and 3 holidays per year. Join a collaborative team committed to patient-centered care, research involvement, governance participation, and ongoing certification in Med/Surg and Stroke.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.
• Delegate tasks, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit.
