Advocate Health is seeking a Full-time Electroencephalographic Technologist in the Neurodiagnostic department (Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital). The role requires EEG competencies, ABRET EEG T certification within 1 year, and BLS within 6 months if required by leadership.

Typically 2 years of Neurodiagnostic experience preferred. You will work 36 hours/week, Monday–Friday, with on-call every other week and no weekend shifts beyond on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• ABRET EEG T registration within 1 year.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers within 6 months unless exempted by department head.
• High School Graduate.
• Typically requires 2 years of Neurodiagnostic Tech experience.

Responsabilités

• Perform and maintain competency in EEGs and portable inpatient EEGs, applying electrodes, calibrating equipment and selecting electrode configurations per case.
• Prepare patient for exam, gather history and information, explain procedures to patient and family.
• Follow lab standards and adjust controls or montages to obtain optimal recordings; monitor artifacts.
• Document artifacts and take proper measures to address them.
• Develop and standardize neurodiagnostic tests for clinic use.
• May perform intraoperative monitoring under supervision.
• May conduct ambulatory EEG monitoring and related monitoring procedures as site needs.
• Assist physicians in outpatient clinics with NCS and EMGs as site needs.
• Perform cerebral death evaluation studies.
• May perform TCD as site needs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and report to supervisor.
• Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care and growth/development principles.
