Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Chief Neurodiagnostic Technologist to oversee the neurodiagnostics department across patient care areas, ensuring high-quality EEG procedures and long-term monitoring studies. You will supervise technologists and interns, coordinate staffing, and maintain equipment and procedures.

The role requires ABRET EEG registration, BLS, and 4–5 years of experience, with a preference for electroneurodiagnostics education and additional certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABRET EEG registration required.
• BLS certification required.
• Completion of an approved electroneurodiagnostics education program preferred, but not required.
• EEG registry must be obtained within 3 years of hire date.
• 5 years' experience preferred; 4 years' experience required.
• Additional certification/eligibility in EP/CNIM/LTM desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the technical operation of clinical services provided by the department.
• Coordinates the clinical activities of Neurodiagnostic Technologists in all patient care areas.
• Performs routine and complex EEGs in all patient care areas.
• Reviews and confirms the quality of work and competencies of technologists and student interns.
• Perform long-term monitoring studies with patient preparation, equipment setup, and data recording.
• Maintains relationships with referring physicians to resolve problems and advise on procedures and equipment.
