Job summary

Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join the Neuro and Trauma specialty PCU. The 48-bed unit serves neuro and trauma high-acuity patients, offering growth through Banner's Career Pathways and a day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 7:00am to 7:30pm with weekend/holiday rotation.

Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, vital signs, specimen collection, and documentation in EMR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CNA certification in state of practice required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• 1 year of medical clerical or hospital experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care to promote comfort and contribute to the plan of care.
• Collect vital signs, intake/output, and other delegated measurements.
• Recognize and report health status changes to licensed staff.
• Assist with procedures and use equipment under supervision of licensed personnel.
• Handle receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintain complete patient records and accurate charting in EMR.
• Assist with transporting patients and unit turnover as needed.
• Manage supplies and assist with inventory as required.
