Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a NICU/ICU RN for the night shift (7 PM–7 AM) on a full‑time basis. The role includes elevation of care for high‑risk patients, ECMO considerations where applicable, and leadership during shifts.

Requirements include an associate degree (BSN preferred), Iowa RN license, BLS, ACLS within 12 months, and NVCI within 6 months. Relocation incentive may apply and night shift differential is available.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required, BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license (IL license if working in IL) may be needed.
• BLS, Mandatory Reporter.
• ACLS within 12 months of hire.
• Cardiac monitoring course and/or select units of advance Nursing / Critical Care Course or comparable training.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (NVCI) within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments; develops individualized, outcome-based plans of care.
• Coordinates and delivers patient care, delegating tasks appropriately and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
• Regularly reassesses patients, updates care plans, and documents thoroughly.
• Effectively communicates patient status and care needs across teams and during shift transitions.
• Follows protocols, administers medications safely, and demonstrates proficiency in required systems and procedures.
• Provides advanced care to ECMO patients, including circuit management, data documentation, and technical education.
