Job summary

Bon Secours seeks a Scheduling Specialist- Neuro Operating Room for St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. You will coordinate and schedule tests/procedures, interact with physician offices, and enter data into the hospital system.

Responsibilities include determining scheduling efficiency, pre-registration where needed, and communicating test prep instructions to patients and staff. Strong customer focus is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Associate degree in business, Healthcare, or related field (preferred).
• Combination of post-secondary education and experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and enters patient scheduling information into the hospital computer system.
• Coordinates scheduling with physician offices and departments to ensure timely procedures.
• Provides pre-registration forms and explanations for test preparation.
• Ensures medical necessity checks and manages non-routine appointments.
• Maintains daily scheduling records and reports statistics.
• Handles calls with professionalism and customer focus.
