Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Patient Care Technician for the Mental Health Nursing Unit. This full-time night shift (7:00pm–7:00am) includes a rotating weekend schedule and 36 hours per week, with responsibilities in patient care, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and specimen collection.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and relevant CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or Navy corps training, plus current clinical study or healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or Navy Hospital Corps School completion required or equivalent.
• Current clinical program enrollment or healthcare experience within last 3 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with daily living activities.
• Monitor vital signs and document changes.
• Perform phlebotomy, point of care testing, and EKGs.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and Foley catheter management.
• Ensure patient safety and report changes to RN.
