Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Nights Full Time team on a 6:30/7:00 schedule with rotating weekends. You will deliver direct patient care in the ICU using the nursing process and contribute to evidence-based practice.

Collaborate across disciplines, educate patients and families, and participate in ongoing performance improvement. This role requires an active Kentucky RN license, an associate degree (bachelor's preferred), and

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in state of practice; Kentucky license active.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in the ICU using the nursing process.
• Performs plan of care interventions including medications, specimens, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned.
