Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Chicago seeks a Networks, Integration, & Automation Project Manager to lead multi-discipline projects in the downtown office. You will oversee safety, schedules, budgets, and client satisfaction across a broad portfolio while developing cost proposals and mentoring staff.

You’ll work on Grid Modernization, Networks, Renewable Energy, Rural Broadband, Private LTE, Fiber, and EV initiatives, coordinating client relationships and delivering integrated communications and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management or related degree.
• Prior experience on construction project sites or in program management in relevant industries is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment and work overtime on short notice.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work collaboratively with owners, contractors, engineers, designers in a multi-disciplinined team to resolve issues.
• Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-discipline engineering projects from concept to completion with safety, siting, permitting, planning, estimating, and closeout.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control costs.
• Serve as primary client contact for coordination, planning, budget, subcontracting, staffing, and QA/QC.
• Lead risk reviews and coordinate with Legal as required.
• Manage project financials, provide cost forecasts and accruals to clients and leadership.
• Establish project teams and coordinate activities across disciplines.
• Oversee submittals, proposals, and contract negotiations; pursue repeat business with clients.
• Provide mentorship and performance feedback to team members.
