Job summary

IAT Insurance Group has an opening for a Networking Intern in our IT Business Unit at the Cheshire, Connecticut location for the summer of 2027. The role supports the Networking Team and offers practical experience reviewing and monitoring key networking infrastructure.

The anticipated start date is May 24th, 2027. The internship follows a hybrid schedule, with office days Monday–Wednesday and optional remote Thursday and Friday.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS/BA in CS, Networking, or MIS.
• Able to work in Cheshire, CT office for the 10-week internship.
• Must complete May 24, 2027 – August 30, 2027.
• Interest in Enterprise networking.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong academic performance.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Review nightly backup jobs of key networking equipment.
• Identify networking areas to improve and adjust.
• Document routes, ACLs, and Firewall rules.
• Network Monitoring.
• Hands-on experience configuring switches and routers.
• Shadow changes, upgrades and network design.
• Perform other duties as needed.
