Job summary

Leidos’ GSMO-II contract seeks a Network Software Engineer Lead to manage release and deployment of tools using NSO, Python, and other languages for a Carrier-class WAN supporting DISA. You’ll engage in network engineering with routing fundamentals in an ISP-scale environment, mentoring engineers and coordinating with management.

The role emphasizes DoD security clearances, SNX integration, and software lifecycle ownership in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
DoD 8750 IAT II security certification or equivalent.
Python development including REST API work and JSON handling.
Experience with Git/Bitbucket and Linux platforms.
Network engineering knowledge for IP routing (BGP/ISIS/OSPF/Static).
Experience with Cisco/Juniper devices in service provider or enterprise networks.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Understanding of software engineering principles.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, testing and release of Python/XML software for NSO.
Integrate software with Cisco ASR9K and Juniper MX routers.
Perform network design, implementation and sustainment tasks in a WAN.
Plan, analyze, design and align work with customer specs.
Ensure contract capabilities are delivered using repeatable processes.
Mitigate risks, control costs and manage large-scale projects.
Direct and perform a range of analytic tasks including hardware/software design.
Identify and report risks; mentor lower-level engineers.
Communicate with team and management to achieve objectives.
Provide SME guidance to junior engineers.
