Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking an Network Security Engineer to support a nationwide critical aviation system from Atlantic City, NJ. The role focuses on transport as well as security, assisting in testing, deployment, and ongoing support across the system.

The ideal candidate will have strong OSI/TCPIP networking knowledge, hands-on packet analysis, and experience with VPN/NAT/firewalls. FAA NAS exposure and public trust clearance are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or Information Technology with six years of relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree with four years of related experience acceptable in lieu of undergraduate experience.
• Experience in network security management, testing, deployment and troubleshooting in a global enterprise environment.
• FAA NAS telecommunications or air traffic management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform enterprise security gateway access control, baseline configuration management, and system performance testing.
• Act as engineering support to network security operations for testing and configuration of information security products.
• Perform lifecycle testing and maintenance of SOA-based security architectures to align with NIST controls.
• Explain complex issues and data flows to customers clearly.
• Conduct packet captures and analyses to identify anomalous behavior and traffic patterns.

aNetwork Security Engineer

Position Type: Full Time Contract, Possible Contract to hire Duration: 06-12 months Location: Atlantic City, NJ

Network Engineer specializing in network transport and security to support the test, development, deployment, and on-going support of a nationwide, mission-critical communication system. You will be working to help support the global aviation community with advanced systems and services that significantly increase the safety, security, and capacity of global air traffic management systems to meet the growing demand of air transportation operations.

Essential Functions:

• Perform enterprise security gateway access control, baseline configuration management, and system performance testing to ensure requirements compliance.
• Act as engineering support to network security operations for the testing and configuration of new information security products and services.
• Perform lifecycle testing and operational support on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based security architectures to maintain compliance with customer-tailored National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) security controls.
• Be able to explain complex issues, data flows, and packet analysis to the customer in a way they can understand.
• Be able to perform packet captures and analysis of packet captures to identify anomalous behavior and traffic patterns.

Preferred Technical Skills & Experience:

• Experience and demonstrated working knowledge of the OSI model and TCP/IP-based networking architectures and communications.
• Demonstrated ability to use packet capture utilities to understand TCP data flows and troubleshoot and resolve TC/IP network transport issues.
• Experience creating and maintaining site-to-site and client IPSec/VPN solutions.
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting security gateway solutions including Firewalls, NAT, and IPSec VPNs.
• Hands-on experience working with network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and servers
• Advanced certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, etc..
• Experience serving government customers in a network security environment a plus.
• Experience in FAA National Airspace System (NAS) telecommunications or air traffic management a plus
• Outstanding people and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of working well with internal & external customers.
• Strong listening, written and oral communication skills.

Ideal candidate will have :

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field minimum six (6) years of prior relevant experience.
• Otherwise, Graduate Degree and a minimum of four (4) years of prior related experience.
• Relevant network experience with security technology management, including system test, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting in a global enterprise environment.
• Experience integrating large complex multi-vendor solutions.
• This Position needs FAA public trust clearance.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*: $65-$70 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
