Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking an Applications Software Engineer to lead design, development, and integration of Cloud-based apps in an Agile setting. You will deploy microservices to Kubernetes ecosystems (EKS/OpenShift) and drive end-to-end CI/CD pipelines with DevOps practices.

The role requires a strong background in Java, C++, Python, and web services, with a focus on scalable, highly available enterprise systems for Cloud environments. FAA clearance is a noted requirement where applicable.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent STEM degree and 6+ years of experience.
• Graduate degree with 4+ years of related experience.
• Minimum 3+ years Cloud Software Development.
• 3+ years OOP in Java, C++, Python.
• Hands-on microservices on Kubernetes (EKS/OpenShift).
• Experience with cloud containers, databases and object storage.
• JavaScript with NodeJS/ReactJS and web services.

Job description

As an Applications software Engineer, you will:

• Lead tasks related to design, development and integration of Cloud software applications in an Agile development environment.
• Develop Cloud based applications and configure the deployment environments to achieve end-to-end integration between Cloud and Non-Cloud components.
• Implement applications satisfying both the program requirements and the business vision & roadmap for Cloud technologies.
• Coordinate with the development team and customers to review designs and estimates, including identifying and documenting risks, assumptions and limitations.
• Leverage DevOps concepts and best practices to build and continuously improve the automated build, test and deployment environments for the applications.
• Provide operational support for applications and tools to meet high availability and other SLAs.

The ideal candidate will have:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent (STEM) and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• Minimum 3+ years Cloud Software Developer
• Minimum 3+ years OOP (Java, C++, Python)
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices to Kubernetes based environments such as EKS, OpenShift, etc.
• Knowledge of microservice architectural patterns
• Cloud environments with focus on containerized workloads, databases, and object storage
• Experience developing scalable, highly available enterprise systems, ideally for Cloud
• Minimum 2 years' experience of Java software development including the use of Web Services, JMS, and application servers and JavaScript development with in-depth knowledge of NodeJS or ReactJS
• Minimum 2 years' experience developing applications that leverage relational and noSQL databases
• Hands-on experience leveraging Cloud services for application development/deployment and using CLI commands and config files to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Experience with DevOps tools and concepts, including but not limited to: Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Git, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines & automation
• Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or similar for other Cloud providers
• JavaScript, JQuery, XML, Web services (REST, SOAP) and/or similar technologies
• Scripting languages, such as Python and Bash
• Ability to write well designed, testable, efficient code
• Experience verifying designs are compliant with specifications

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range*: $45-$50 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
