Job summary

Rackspace Technology is seeking a Network Operations Engineer I to support uptime and maintenance of critical networking systems. You will monitor across top-of-rack to edge, own complex issues, and communicate with internal and external customers to ensure resolution.

The role emphasizes ticket-based and phone support, documentation of events, and collaboration with incident management. A CCNA-level background and strong communication skills are required, with weekend/holiday flexibility.

Qualifications

• 18+ months networking experience in a CLI environment.
• CCNA-level aptitude.
• 12+ months in a customer service role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer support via ticketing system and phone.
• Detect events in a timely manner using monitoring tools.
• Mitigate DDoS attacks to protect customers and shared infrastructure.
• Document planned and unplanned network events in tracking systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network events and create event documentation.
• Take ownership of customer requests through resolution.
• Escalate to next level engineers and coordinate with Incident Management.
• Escalate to vendors and follow up to ensure resolution.
• Adhere to Change Management and Maintenance policy and process.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis and document findings.
• Review and sign off on defined policy and standards.
