Job summary

Target is seeking a Lead Engineer to anchor the Network Operating System (NOS) architecture, owning the design across kernel and user space. You will build, integrate, and debug software within the Linux stack and contribute to SONiC-based NOS images.

You will collaborate across hardware and software boundaries, leveraging Docker workflows to enable scalable, secure, and high-performance network solutions. The role requires strong C/C++ in Linux and experience with Python, Docker, and build

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong experience in C/C++ in a Linux environment.
• Working knowledge of Python and scripting (bash or similar).

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the architecture for the Network Operating System (NOS).
• Build, integrate, and debug software across the Linux stack (kernel and user space).
• Contribute to SONiC builds producing Linux-based NOS images.
• Troubleshoot complex issues spanning software, systems, networking, hardware, and infrastructure.
