Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer II for the Software Defined Infrastructure team in Austin, TX. You will design and optimize SONiC-based network software, build automation and telemetry, and collaborate with hardware vendors to enable platform bring-up at scale.

Qualifications include 3+ years of professional software development, embedded C/C++, and a Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent. Expect full-time duties with a competitive benefits package and RSU/sign-on components.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop SONiC networking features, platform services, and device drivers.
• Debug and optimize Linux-based networking systems across production deployments.
• Collaborate with hardware and ASIC vendors on platform bring-up, SAI integration, and SDK enablement.
• Build and improve telemetry pipelines, deployment automation, and operational tooling.
• Drive software quality through CI/CD, automated testing, and firmware hardening.
• Work across software, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver production-ready networking solutions.
