Job summary

Target Lead Engineer for the Network Operating System (NOS) product acts as the technical anchor for the team. You own and drive the application architecture, build and debug software across the Linux stack, and contribute to SONiC builds that produce complete Linux-based network OS images.

You work across hardware and software boundaries, develop Docker-based container workflows, mentor others, and elevate engineering standards to deliver high‑performance, scalable, and secure solutions.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Strong experience in C /C++ in a Linux environment.
• Working knowledge of Python and scripting (bash or similar).
• Familiarity with tools like git, make, and basic build systems.
• Linux operating system services (e.g. systemd).
• Experience using Docker and understanding how containers work.
• Familiarity with networking concepts: Ethernet basics and Layer 2/3 concepts.
• Awareness of I2C devices and switching ASIC concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the application architecture for NOS.
• Build, integrate, and debug software across the Linux stack.
• Contribute to SONiC builds that produce Linux-based network OS images.
• Lead design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of services.
• Mentor others and raise engineering capabilities.
• Establish standards and best practices for high-performance, scalable deliverables.
