Job summary

Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group in Westford, MA, is seeking an experienced software engineer to develop open-source SONiC NOS for next-gen routing and switching products. You will work on platform support for Nokia’s Broadcom/Marvell-based switches and collaborate with customers to productize platforms in customer networks.

The role requires strong C++/Python, Linux development, and deep networking protocol knowledge (BGP/IGP, SRv6, EVPN/VxLAN).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or EE; Master’s a plus.
• Hands-on Linux software development experience.
• Strong C++ and Python programming skills.
• Experience designing and developing network protocols.
• Excellent knowledge of BGP and IGP.
• Knowledge of SRv6 and EVPN/VxLAN.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (Docker/Containers, Namespaces).
• Experience with distributed systems in embedded networking projects.
• Experience designing network management interfaces like gNOI.
• Strong OS architecture knowledge (memory management, IPC, scheduling).

Responsibilities

• Develop open-source SONiC NOS for next-gen routing/switching products.
• Develop platform and SW support for Nokia switching portfolio.
• Collaborate with customers to productize Nokia platforms in networks.
• Work with Test team to ensure product quality.
• Coordinate with Product Line Management to meet requirements.
• Background in software design, implementation and debugging.
• Show strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving.
