Job summary

Verizon is hiring a Network Operations Engineer to enhance our industry-leading network. The role requires supporting a 24x7 Operations environment, handling outages, service issues, optimization, and maintenance to keep customers connected and productive.

You will work onsite in Farmington or Gallup, NM, joining a team that thrives on solving problems and driving improvements. This position calls for an Associate's degree or 3+ years of relevant experience, with willingness to rotate weekends

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two+ years of work experience.
• Three+ years of relevant network engineering experience.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of telecommunications equipment and technologies like Telephony Switching, Data Communications and Network Routers.

Responsibilities

• Performing optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network systems and applications to identify overall system availability and performance.
• Evaluating network coverage to find gaps, making recommendations to improve coverage, and helping to implement those recommendations.
• Performing triage, fault isolation, and remediation of network events.
• Generating, driving, and updating problem-tracking tickets via multiple systems and continuously improving business practices.
• Escalating issues to the appropriate internal/external engineer teams for resolution.
