Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations. The selected candidate will be part of a team that reports to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO) and performs daily system monitoring, operations, and maintenance of the C2BMC network systems in a 24x7 operations and test environment.

Essential Functions:

• Provide first-level technical support to the warfighter and perform initial troubleshooting of all local C2BMC network hardware and software.

• Document and report all events/issues to the CWO and receive tasking and direction from the CCC for all operations, tests & real-world events.

• Assist in all network hardware/software installations as directed by the local SMEs and create and maintain user accounts as directed by the local ISSO.

• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Rotating 24 x 7 shift work is required. The candidate will be assigned a 12-hour shift, which will determine mission requirements.

• Some substitute rotation during off-shifts, including nights and weekends, will be required.

Basic Qualifications:

• An active Secret clearance is required to start.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 0 – 3 years experience; 0 – 1 year experience with an advanced degree, or 7 years experience in lieu of a degree.

• Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).

• Practical experience and knowledge in the usage of network management tools.

• Knowledge of encryption devices, specifically TACLANEs.

• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix Server maintenance.

• Knowledge and experience in Network concepts are required: LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, network management and monitoring.

• Management and monitoring tools and techniques for various network infrastructure components and services.

• Monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytic tools.

• Virtualization technologies such as VMWare, vCenter, vSphere.

• Practical experience and knowledge of remote access software such as SSH, RDP, FTP, and SCP.

• OSPF, Cisco IOS, and JUNOS commands and troubleshooting.

• Experience in Windows Server maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.
