Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems in New Berlin, WI is seeking a field telecom technician with 5-7 years of experience to install, monitor and test transport equipment. The role includes substantial driving and on-site work in the field.

You will work with equipment such as FlashWave, Nortel Classic and Digital Cross Connect, coordinate with carriers, and support outages and break-fix activities. Onsite 2 days a week, with travel as required.

Location: New Berlin, WI (Onsite), driving involved.

Description: 2 days in office/week, depending on field requirements for outages and break-fix. Position will involve a significant amount of driving in the field.

Targeted Years of Experience: 5-7 years

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation, monitoring, testing of telecommunications and associated transport equipment per specifications and operational procedures
• Performs testing and diagnostic procedures on equipment according to published equipment standards to include Physical Layer and Logical Layer platforms
• Maps, grow, and/or tests transmission equipment FlashWave, Nortel Classic, Digital Cross Connect, etc.
• Map routers, bridges, multiplexers, concentrators, etc.
• Create or perform migrations to new and existing Carriers such as PVC/EVC;s on Various routers; utilizes remote test systems to isolate and resolve continuity problems
• Coordinates the test and turn up of service with all involved providers until the customer service is up and working
