Job summary

Texas Department Of Criminal Justice seeks an IT support professional to manage ITSM tickets, respond to user needs, and troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and network issues. You will install and maintain network equipment and structured cabling across state facilities.

You may work in telecom rooms, crawl spaces, rooftops, and ceilings. Travel 25% is required to cover prisons, offices, and facilities statewide.

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year IT work experience.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software related to networks, computers, peripherals, and video surveillance systems.
Ability to conduct IT product evaluation.
Ability to identify strengths, weaknesses, and benefits of IT systems to the agency.
Troubleshoot and maintain video surveillance systems.
Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
Able to work overtime or on weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support by managing ITSM tickets, responding to customer needs, and troubleshooting complex hardware, software, and network issues.
Install, configure, and maintain network equipment and structured cabling using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
Work across multiple facilities (admin offices, prisons, parole offices, jails, production facilities) statewide; navigate various technically challenging environments.
