Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Network Specialist I in Amarillo to provide intermediate IT and network support for agency systems. You will handle desktop OS support, hardware/software issues, and network changes, with after-hours availability for emergencies.

The role requires meeting a range of technical and customer-service expectations, with travel up to 30% within the Texas Panhandle. A High School diploma is required; ITIL certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting desktop OS, preferably Windows, in a local/ WAN.
• Hands-on hardware/software support with strong customer service.
• Ability to train others on technical issues and agency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate computer systems and network support.
• Image computers and add software to computers.
• Schedule adds/moves/changes and complete installations.
• Maintain network infrastructure and security software.
• Provide user training and technical assistance.
• Assist with LAN/WAN support and office infrastructure.
• Act as backup in the unit as needed.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.
