Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Help Desk Operator to coordinate the IS Help Desk and provide first-level technical support for users. You will respond to calls, emails, and web requests, escalating as needed and tracking issues for timely resolutions.

You’ll maintain access databases, collaborate with Technical and Support Services, and manage equipment logs and software licenses while supporting department projects and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of personal computers and other productivity software.
• Working knowledge of MS Windows operating system features and configuration.
• Working knowledge with MS Office applications.
• Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Responds to telephone calls, emails and web requests for technical support. Provides first level of support, escalates and routes service requests appropriately.
• Tracks and monitors problems and requests to ensure timely resolutions.
• Works with print vendor to replace toner cartridges when necessary.
• Performs employee system access table updates. Coordinates efforts with Technical and Support Services teams to update the role-based access database.
• Maintains logbook on equipment signed out for repairs.
• Assists in evaluating and planning tasks for projects, department moves, etc.
• Properly documents and tracks software licenses, new equipment, replacements, and disposals in the Help Desk System.
• Manages pager inventory, repairs, replacement, and expenses.
• Tracks IS expenses and issues check requests for invoices.
