Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking an IT Network Engineer to implement and support the enterprise network infrastructure across the campus and internet.

The role includes maintaining Cisco equipment, VoIP systems, and related network services with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field and 1–3 years’ experience with Cisco in a complex enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems/technology/computer science (or equivalent work experience).
• Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco or other network technologies, HP-UX and Microsoft Windows server, network and client operating systems and technologies as they relate to the network infrastructure.
• 1-3 years of experience working with Cisco technologies in a complex enterprise network environment.
• 1-3 experience with wireless network technologies.
• 1-3 working with cable management and standards for IDF and Data Centers.
• Certification in Cisco, Microsoft, and other networking technology highly desired.
• Programming or scripting skills to assist in network administrative tasks highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Implements and maintains Cisco wired and wireless network equipment and software.
• Maintains VoIP and traditional PBX technology.
• Performs network troubleshooting and analysis using inspection tools.
• Develops and documents procedures covering enterprise-wide network infrastructure.
• Monitors performance and plans capacity for the network infrastructure.
