Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking an IT Network Engineer to implement and support our enterprise network infrastructure across the campus and Internet.

The role covers Cisco wired/wireless, VoIP, PBX, and related technologies, with collaboration across IM teams and external partners. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and have 1–3 years of experience with Cisco and enterprise networks, along with related server and OS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems/technology/computer science (or equivalent work experience).
• Comprehensive knowledge of Cisco or other network technologies, HP-UX and Microsoft Windows server, network and client operating systems and technologies as they relate to the network infrastructure.
• 1-3 years of experience working with Cisco technologies in a complex enterprise network environment.
• 1-3 years of experience with Windows server, HP-UX, Solaris, and Windows client/server-based equipment in a complex enterprise network environment.
• 1-3 years of experience with wireless network technologies.
• 1-3 with cable management and standards for IDF and Data Centers.
• Networking/telecommunication experience with PBX, VoIP, QoS, etc.
• Certifications in Cisco, Microsoft, and other networking tech desired.
• Demonstrated project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements and maintains Cisco wired and wireless network equipment and software.
• Maintains VoIP and PBX technology.
• Performs network troubleshooting and analysis using diagnostic tools.
• Collaborates with IT Security for policy and design needs.
• Develops and documents network infrastructure procedures.
• Monitors and reports on performance of enterprise networks.
• Performs capacity and performance planning for network infrastructure.
• Provides on-call support for data center operations.
