Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Herndon, VA is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join the NetEng team.

You will collaborate with our Infrastructure and Software teams to deploy scalable networking designs, and automate with Python/Bash to sustain networks across AWS data centers. You will diagnose complex networking events, lead projects, and document deployments while upholding standards and delivering reliable, cost-efficient networking at scale.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl.
• 4+ years of network engineering and deployments for large-scale networks in a corporate environment.
• 4+ years of network, system, or software architecture experience.
• 4+ years of technical support experience, or experience handling customer escalations.
• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Define tools with automation teams to scale at higher volume.
• Lead network projects in sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, and optimization.
• Sustain AWS networks for large customers by diagnosing and resolving events.
• Operate and troubleshoot routing, interconnectivity, platforms, and configurations issues.
• Collaborate with Network/Infrastructure to standardize configs and tools.
• Ensure fast rollout of new designs and deployment of networking software tools.
• Maintain standards across networking tools and ensure policy compliance.
• Create and review deployment documentation and knowledge transfer materials.
