DRW is seeking a Systems Software Engineer for the Network Capture Services team at our Chicago headquarters. You will write code in C++, Python, Rust and also work on systems and infrastructure: specifying, building, and deploying capture servers, automating with Ansible, and coordinating with data center, systems, network, and purchasing teams.

You will join a team with weekly production support rotation and ongoing feature development.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional systems software engineering experience.
Strong skills in a systems language (Rust, C/C++, or Go).
Experience with Linux, networking fundamentals, and data-center workflows.
Experience with Ansible or configuration management tools.
Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and package management.

Responsibilities

Design, build, deploy, and validate network capture servers across teams.
Develop and maintain capture software (C++, Python, Rust, Ruby) with focus on testing and reliability.
Create Ansible automation and deployment tooling for repeatable provisioning.
Support production issues on a weekly rotation with incident response coordination.
Improve automation, monitoring, and capacity planning; push proposals to production.
