Job summary

Meta is seeking a Network Production Engineer to design, build, and operate our global backbone, data center, and AI networks. You will develop automation, deploy network software, and participate in on-call rotations to keep services reliable at scale.

The role blends software and networking, requires experience with scalable systems, programming (Python/Go/C++) and multi-vendor equipment (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Brocade).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; degree completed before joining Meta.
• 2+ years of experience designing, building, or operating scalable networks/systems.
• 2+ years of coding experience in Python, Go, C++, or Java.
• Knowledge of TCP, IPv4/6, routing protocols (BGP, MPLS, ISIS, etc.), and related network services.
• Experience configuring network devices in multi-vendor environments (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Brocade).

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, build, and maintain automation and tools for network deployment, release engineering, and operations.
• Investigate complex technical issues across networks, including tooling, hardware failures, and network faults.
• Increase operational efficiency by designing and delivering automation solutions and driving cross-functional changes.
• Identify gaps that affect multiple teams and drive execution plans across teams.
• Design and develop scalable solutions for diverse network hardware platforms.
• Lead automation improvements for CI, testing infrastructure, release, and configuration management across backbone, data center, and edge networks.
• Develop scalable operational processes and automated workflows to boost efficiency.
• Participate in an on-call rotation with the team.
• Hardware evaluation and vendor management.
