Job summary

Meta seeks Network Production Engineers to design, build, and operate its backbone, data center, and AI networks at scale. You will craft scalable solutions, automate deployments, and collaborate across hardware, software, and sourcing teams to drive reliability and efficiency.

You will work on production challenges and toolchains, contribute to continuous improvement, and engage in on-call rotations to improve current and future network technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience planning, designing, building, and/or operating scalable and reliable systems and/or networks.
• Experience coding in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, Go, Rust, or Java).
• Demonstrated knowledge of TCP, IPv4/6, Routing Protocols (BGP, MPLS, ISIS, etc.).
• Experience configuring network devices in multi-vendor environments (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Brocade, etc.).
• Experience in configuration and maintenance of network devices and NMS systems or related applications.
• Hardware evaluation and vendor management experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement global best practices and design scalable network solutions.
• Build and maintain automation and tools to support product introductions, deployment, release engineering, and operations.
• Design and develop solutions that scale across multiple hardware platforms.
• Lead automation improvements for CI, validation, testing, release, and configuration management."
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and sourcing teams to develop new networking solutions.
• Investigate complex technical issues across networks including tooling, hardware failures, and outages.
• Develop operational process improvements and scalable automated workflows.
• Improve cross-team collaboration by identifying roadblocks and driving automation projects.
• Identify gaps impacting multiple teams and drive execution across groups.
• Participate in on-call rotation to address production challenges and improve products.
• Mentor team members and contribute to team growth.
