Job summary

Meta's Network Infrastructure team designs and operates one of the world's largest networks. The Network Production Engineer role spans Backbone, Datacenter, and AI Network domains, blending software and networking to keep systems reliable, scalable, and efficient.

You will implement scalable designs, automate deployment, collaborate with hardware, software, and sourcing teams, and participate in on-call rotations to improve production outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering.
• 8+ years of experience building scalable, reliable networks or systems.
• Experience coding in Python, C++, Go, or Rust.
• Experience configuring network devices and related systems.
• Experience with Juniper, Cisco, Arista, or Brocade devices.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement global best practices and design scalable network solutions.
• Build and maintain automation/tools for NPI, deployment, release engineering, and operations.
• Design and develop solutions that scale across hardware platforms of network equipment.
• Lead automation enhancements across backbone, data center, and edge networks.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and sourcing teams to develop new networking solutions.
• Investigate complex technical issues across networks, from tooling to hardware failures.
• Develop process improvements with scalable automated workflows.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to remove roadblocks and deliver changes.
• Participate in on-call rotation to learn from production challenges.
• Mentor team members and contribute to group growth.
