Job summary

The Town of Essex is seeking a Network Administrator to support and maintain computer systems, servers, network equipment, phones, desktops and peripherals across six sites. You will troubleshoot issues, provide end-user training, and report to the IT Director.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree or 3 years of equivalent experience, a valid driver’s license, and must pass a full background check due to access to confidential information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent or 3 years of equivalent work experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must pass a full background investigation due to access to confidential information.
• Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues to deliver technology services and end-user training.
• Access drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQs to aid problem resolution.
• Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot all Town hardware/software and peripherals.
• Create and test customized configurations for various platforms and OS.
• Maintain knowledge of Windows operating systems and server platforms.
