Job summary

ASM Research in Columbia, SC, seeks a Network Administrator to build, support, and optimize the organization's network and related systems. You will design, deploy, and troubleshoot small to medium network deployments and manage access to Active Directory.

The role requires 2–5 years of network admin experience, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and security qualifications such as Security+ or DoD 8140 IAT-II. Must maintain network security and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Must possess a Secret Clearance.
• Security+ or other DoD 8140 compliant certification for IAT-II.
• CompTIA Network+ and/or CCNA certification preferred (CCNA meets above requirement).
• 2-5 years of experience in network administration.

Responsibilities

• Installs and supports LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
• Installs, configures, manages and maintains network infrastructure devices as well as related hardware and software.
• Identifies network needs and capabilities from an end-user perspective.
• Monitors network to maintain integrity and security.
• Assigns configuration of authentication and authorization of Active Directory network services.
• Maintains network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of PCs and printers.
• Maintains network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, intrusion detection systems.
• Designs, deploys, and troubleshoots small-scale to medium network deployments.
• Conducts appropriate tests to ensure proper working condition and security of network systems.
• Monitors network performance and performs intermediary restoration/recovery actions.
• Responsible for operations, configuration, and maintenance of telecommunications such as voice, video, and data transport and related hardware.
