Job summary

ASM Research is seeking an experienced Data Center Network Administrator to operate, optimize, and maintain the data center network infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, performance, and security of our network services.

The role requires 4+ years of data center networking experience, deep knowledge of TCP/IP, VLAN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS and DNS, hands-on experience with switches, routers, load balancers and firewalls, and familiarity with STIGs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Data Center Network Administrator or a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, VLAN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and DNS.
• Hands-on experience with switches, routers, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Proficient in Wireshark, SNMP, and packet analysis.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with STIGs and remediation checklists.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V) and SDN/NFV is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• US citizenship and current secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate, optimize, and maintain the data center network infrastructure.

• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
• Collaborate with system administrators, security teams, and stakeholders on security and compliance.
• Troubleshoot network-related issues including connectivity, routing, and performance.
• Conduct capacity planning to support future growth.
• Maintain documentation of network configurations and procedures.
• Provide on-call support and participate in on-call rotation.
• Assist deployment and operations teams with data center concepts.
