Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to support regional and national projects. You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high-voltage power systems, and mentor junior technicians in the field.

Base compensation up to $95/hour with OT, signing bonus up to $10,000, a company vehicle, per diem for out-of-town assignments, and full benefits. Travel up to 75% is required.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification, current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver''s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%)

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
