Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV. The role requires regional travel (up to 75%), strong knowledge of NETA standards, and proficiency with test equipment such as Doble, Megger, Omicron, and Dranetz.

Base compensation features up to $95/hour, generous OT, signing bonus, company vehicle, and extensive benefits including medical and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Current NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in HV/MV environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficiency with listed test equipment.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams and schematics.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
