Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform high‑voltage testing and studies across regional/national projects. You’ll lead testing on equipment up to 500kV, analyze results, and deliver reports.

Expect travel up to 75%, a company vehicle, and comprehensive benefits; strong growth paths from field engineer to leadership roles. Base compensation is aggressive, including signing bonus up to $10k, OT, and a 401(k) with profit sharing.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Current NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment listed above.
• Ability to read one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and breakers.
• Interpret test results; author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians; serve as technical lead on projects.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety.
• Support certification/continuing education initiatives; travel as required.
