Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform testing and commissioning on high voltage power systems. Travel up to 75% regionally/nationally with competitive compensation and a robust benefits package.

You will test, analyze, and report on power systems up to 500kV, mentor junior technicians, and ensure compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, and OSHA. This role offers professional growth into leadership positions within Vertiv's ERS/HVM divisions.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field; serve as technical lead on multi-discipline projects.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
