Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV. The role includes regional/national travel up to 75% and a compensation structure up to $110/hour, with bonuses and benefits described by the employer.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of hands-on HV testing experience, strong relay and protection knowledge, and the ability to lead technical teams on multi-discipline

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV Certification is required.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF, and equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
