Job summary

Vertiv Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to lead high-voltage testing and commissioning work across regional projects. You will perform acceptance and maintenance testing on systems up to 500kV, interpret results, and produce technical reports.

The role requires 7+ years of hands-on HV testing, proficiency with major test equipment, and the ability to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification required; current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Ability to read/interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies: short circuit, coordination, arc flash, power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers and switchgear.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field; serve as technical lead on projects.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, OSHA.
