Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing to perform testing and commissioning on high-voltage power systems up to 500kV. The role requires NETA Level III/IV certification, 7+ years of testing experience, and readiness to travel up to 75% across regional projects.

You will work with state-of-the-art test equipment, lead field teams, and ensure compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E and OSHA. A strong safety mindset is mandatory.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line, three-line diagrams and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
