Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform high‑voltage testing and commissioning across regional/national projects. You will lead testing on systems up to 500kV, analyze results, and draft formal reports for critical infrastructure customers.

Ideal candidates hold NETA Level III/IV, 7+ years in HV testing, and strong relay coordination knowledge; travel up to 75% is required.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage envts.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficient with test equipment listed (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Strong protective relay scheme coordination and diagram interpretation.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; willing to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analyses.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical to microprocessor-based).
• Test insulation resistance and power factor on transformers and switchgear.
• Interpret results and write detailed engineering reports with findings.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and lead multi-discipline project teams.
• Ensure compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA.
