Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high voltage systems up to 500kV. You will conduct power studies, calibrate protective relays, and generate detailed reports for complex projects in demanding environments.

This role requires NETA III/IV certification, 7+ years of HV testing experience, and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV Certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficiency with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF and equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally (up to 75%).

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
