Job summary

Shermco Industries, Inc. seeks a Field Service Technician - Electrical Testing in Janesville, WI to perform electrical testing, maintenance and repair on distribution systems. You will join a team delivering safe, high-quality service at customer sites with travel to industrial and commercial facilities.

The role requires a technical degree, NETA testing experience, and a commitment to safety. On-site hours, potential overtime, and equipment testing duties are included.

Qualifications

Must have 2+ years of switchgear testing experience.
Ability to travel locally and overnight.
NETA Certification (I-IV) or similar desired.
Strong safety and NFPA 70E compliance.

Responsibilities

Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot and data collect HV systems.
Instrument transformer tests.
Power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, insulation).
Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
Cable testing: Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot.
Automatic transfer switch troubleshooting.
Test low, medium and high voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
Calibrate relays and power metering; rotate on-call duties.
