Millerbernd Manufacturing in Winsted, MN is hiring a Programmer to nest, write and optimize programs for torch cutting on plasma tables. The role supports sales quotes with setup details, run times and labor estimates, and trains operators to improve skills.

The ideal candidate will have SolidWorks/SigmaNest experience, a High School diploma or equivalent, and preferably an AS degree in engineering technology or CNC programming.Excellent problem solving and GD&T knowledge are required.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent and one year of on the job experience programming with SolidWorks (or similar CAD), and SigmaNest (or similar nesting software)
• An AS degree with a concentration on Engineering Technology, Machine Trades or CNC Machine Programming is helpful
• Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered
• Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerances to .0005
• Computer literate; particularly in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and shop floor control applications
• Knowledgeable concerning mechanical principles, fabrication practices, properties of metals, and the application of mathematics and dimensions to tooling and the production of machined parts
• Experience machining aluminum, stainless and carbon steels
• Knowledge and experience in fixture design
• Proficiency in converting SolidWorks into SigmaNest
• Accurately use tape measure and precision measuring devices
• Ability to solve practical problems and make decisions within a set of guidelines
• Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork
• Effective and appropriate oral and written communication skills, including legible handwriting in English
• Able to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or procedures

Responsabilidades

• Nest, write and optimize programs to cut parts on plasma and torch cutting tables
• Provide information required by sales department to quote potential work orders, including machine set up, run time, inspection and labor hours
• Assist plasma and laser table operators and provide training that will advance his/her skills
• Regular and on-time attendance for full scheduled work shift schedule
• Maintain a favorable working relationship with coworkers to promote a cooperative working climate conducive to maximum productivity, efficiency and effectiveness
• Participate and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Maintains 5S guidelines
• Communicate relevant information and concerns positively and effectively to others in timely manner
• Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements
